FMI has established a solid presence in Japan for over a decade. Through our flagship "The Peak" series, we have made a name for ourselves in Osaka, earning the trust of investors, travelers, local banks, contractors, and even nearby residents who consistently praise the quality and design of FMI properties. While The Peak series is firmly rooted in the market, we never rest on our laurels. We are constantly exploring new opportunities, which has led us to launch a brand-new sub-brand: The Vista.
My partnership with the Japanese developer behind this initiative was a meeting of minds. He admired how I, as a foreign investor, achieved such success in Osaka, while he himself is a forward-thinking entrepreneur actively seeking international expansion opportunities. Because our business philosophies align so closely, we hit it off immediately and decided to join forces in the vacation rental space.
A Masterclass in Affordable, Beautiful, and High-Quality
While The Peak is our premier flagship series with a well-established reputation among our followers, creating a sub-brand requires a clear market positioning. If The Peak represents sleek, high-end luxury, The Vista is designed as a vibrant, youthful line tailored for young people and couples traveling on tighter budgets who still want to experience FMI’s exceptional hospitality. Why target the youth market? I frequently hear from investors who feel that The Peak’s positioning is too high-end. While they love the design and quality, budget constraints often force them to settle for secondary, refurbished old buildings or properties located in remote areas. Hearing this always frustrates me. I understand that everyone loves a good bargain, but if something is cheap while sacrificing beauty and quality, a low price is meaningless and can easily lead to losses. Therefore, I wanted to set a benchmark to demonstrate what truly affordable, beautiful, and high-quality means, bringing a high-value, cost-effective option to this new demographic.
Japan's Largest Koreatown
The name "The Vista" signifies outlook and broad horizons. Unlike the minimalist style of The Peak, The Vista utilizes bright, eye-catching colors in both its interior and exterior design to highlight a youthful, energetic vibe. Although it is a sub-brand, we have made zero compromises when it comes to planning, construction, and materials. Specifically, its earthquake-resistant performance strictly adheres to The Peak’s rigorous standards, utilizing robust steel-frame structures without cutting corners, ensuring full compliance with Japanese government regulations. Some might ask: If the property quality matches The Peak, how does The Vista achieve a lower price point? To be frank, the only element we compromise on is location. While I traditionally focus my land acquisitions exclusively in Osaka's prime core districts—such as Shinsaibashi, Namba, and Tsutenkaku—where land values are inevitably astronomical, expanding slightly outward reveals plenty of high-potential neighborhoods in the outer core. The key requirement is that the property must be within walking distance of a multi-line transit station, ensuring convenient travel for guests.
After extensive market research, we selected Tsuruhashi in Ikuno Ward, located in eastern Osaka City. Tsuruhashi is home to Japan’s largest Koreatown. Its 500-meter-long shopping street is packed with Korean eateries, cosmetics shops, grocery stores, and BBQ spots, making it a trendy hotspot beloved by local Japanese youth and tourists alike. Our premier Vista project, The Vista Sennichi, is just a two-minute walk from Tsuruhashi Station. The station is a major transit hub serviced by three railway networks: JR West, the Kintetsu Railway, and the Osaka Metro Sennichimae Line. JR trains provide direct access to Umeda and Tennoji; the Metro Sennichimae Line takes you straight to Namba and Nipponbashi; and the Kintetsu Nara Line offers direct access to Nara and Kansai International Airport. Its transit connectivity rivals that of any primary core district. For travelers who love diving deep into local communities to experience authentic neighborhood life, Tsuruhashi is an absolute hidden gem waiting to be discovered.
